Carlos Alcaraz critiques Real Madrid and defends Laver Cup choice

Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has expressed frustration regarding the recent performance of his favorite football club, Real Madrid. Ahead of his participation in the Laver Cup in London, Alcaraz noted that the team's slow start to the season has been difficult to watch, suggesting they need more intensity to reach their full potential.

Regarding his professional tennis schedule, Alcaraz has faced scrutiny for choosing to compete in the Laver Cup rather than representing Spain in the Davis Cup. Former coach Rick Macci defended the decision, suggesting that opting for the Laver Cup allowed Alcaraz to avoid a premature transition to clay courts, which was necessary for the Davis Cup matches in Chile. This strategic choice is viewed as a way to manage his recovery and workload following a lengthy hiatus from the tour.
