Carlos Alcaraz joins Erste Bank Open lineup in Vienna

Carlos Alcaraz has accepted a wild-card to compete in the Erste Bank Open, an ATP 500 tournament in Vienna, scheduled from October 26 to November 1. The Spanish player, currently ranked third in the world, is set to arrive in the Austrian capital on October 24, with his first match expected on October 27 at the Wiener Stadthalle.

Alcaraz’s participation follows the postponement of the ‘Six Kings Slam’ exhibition in Saudi Arabia to late December, which created a gap in his schedule. His addition to the lineup comes as a significant boost for the tournament organizers, especially following the withdrawal of defending champion Jannik Sinner due to injury.

The tournament features a high-caliber field including six top-ten players. Alongside Alcaraz and top seed Alexander Zverev, the lineup includes Daniil Medvedev, Flavio Cobolli, Alex de Minaur, and Frances Tiafoe. The event carries a prize pool of approximately 2.787 million euros.
