Carlos Alcaraz joins Erste Bank Open lineup in Vienna

Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz is set to compete in the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, scheduled from October 24 to November 1. Alcaraz, currently ranked third in the world, will make his first match of the tournament on Tuesday, October 27, at the Wiener Stadthalle.

Tournament director Herwig Straka secured Alcaraz's participation following news that the “Six Kings Slam” in Saudi Arabia was postponed to late December. Alcaraz is slated to arrive in Vienna on Saturday, October 24, to begin preparations. He will be the second seed in the tournament, trailing only Alexander Zverev.

Fellow Spaniard Dani Mérida is also participating in the Vienna Open. Mérida has been training in Murcia alongside Alcaraz ahead of his upcoming appearances in Vienna and the Paris Masters 1000.
