Carlos José Troche Rodríguez faces charges in fatal Santo Domingo hit-and-run

Carlos José Troche Rodríguez, known as ‘Nino Dólar’, is facing legal action following a fatal traffic accident on Abraham Lincoln Avenue in Santo Domingo. Prosecutors allege that Troche Rodríguez, driving a black Chevrolet Tahoe, struck a Suzuki motorcycle carrying three occupants.

According to the prosecution, the driver did not stop after the collision; instead, he accelerated, dragging the victims for several meters. The incident resulted in the immediate deaths of Wilmer Ernesto Rodríguez Silverio and his daughter, Wilkaren Massiel Rodríguez Batista. A third passenger, Arianna Michelle Ciprian, sustained severe injuries and remains hospitalized with a prognosis of permanent disability.

Family members and supporters gathered in front of the Palacio de Justicia de Ciudad Nueva to demand justice, protesting against perceived inequality in the legal system and calling for the application of a new Penal Code. Troche Rodríguez may face between three and five years in prison as the judicial process continues.
