Mexico implements legislative reforms in justice, real estate, and electric vehicle regulation
Various legislative initiatives and legal proceedings are underway in Mexico. Senator Max García has proposed reforms to the National Code of Criminal Procedure to ensure “equality of arms” between parties, including stricter impartiality rules for judges and expanded rights for victims.
In Baja California, Deputy Jesús Daniel Razo Córdova introduced a reform to the General Law of State Property to combat real estate fraud and irregular land occupations. Meanwhile, in Mexico City, the local Congress approved a fiscal reform requiring licenses for Personal Electric Motorized Vehicles (VEMEPE), such as electric scooters and bikes.
