Carlos Queiroz reappointed as Ghana Black Stars head coach

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that Carlos Queiroz will continue as the head coach of the Black Stars. Following discussions with the GFA and the ministry of sports and recreation, Queiroz has been granted a new coaching mandate that begins during the upcoming international window.

Queiroz, the former Real Madrid and Portugal manager, expressed pride in his reappointment, stating that serving Ghana is a “privilege, a responsibility, and a mission.” He had previously been serving in a temporary capacity.

As part of his ongoing preparations, Ghana is scheduled to play an international friendly against Tanzania during the September international window. This match follows Ghana's opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Cote d’Ivoire and Gambia. The friendly will allow Queiroz to further assess his squad as the team prepares for its upcoming qualifying campaigns.
