Carlos Rivera to undergo vocal cord surgery and reschedule concerts
Mexican singer Carlos Rivera has announced he will undergo microsurgery on his vocal cords in the second week of November 2026. The decision follows a persistent injury to his left vocal cord that failed to improve despite medical rest and a recent two-week period of total vocal silence.
Rivera first noticed symptoms during his tour in Spain in July. While he attempted to manage the condition through vocal rest and specialized rehabilitation, medical professionals determined that surgical intervention is necessary to prevent further complications.
The surgery has forced significant changes to his performance schedule. Several concerts have been rescheduled for 2027, including dates in Quito and Guayaquil, Ecuador (moved to May 2027), Costa Rica (moved to April 2027), and Monterrey, Mexico (moved to May 2027). A scheduled performance in Querétaro, Mexico, has been officially canceled. However, upcoming shows in Tlaxcala and Guadalajara will proceed as planned, as they are scheduled to take place before the medical procedure.
