Carly Rae Jepsen releases new single ‘Motivation’ ahead of double album

Carly Rae Jepsen has released ‘Motivation’, a house-inspired single from the ‘night’ portion of her upcoming 24-track double album, ‘Day and Night’. Scheduled for release on September 18, 2026, via Interscope Records, the track explores themes of family expectations, inherited patterns, and the concept of chosen family.

Produced by Cole M. G. N. and Kyle Shearer, ‘Motivation’ follows previous singles ‘On Wires’, ‘After All’, and ‘Don’t Leave Me on the Dancefloor’. While the ‘night’ side of the album leans toward maximalist club and electronic influences, the ‘day’ side features more introspective and symphonic pop textures.

The music video for ‘Motivation’, directed by Caio Viera, was filmed in Paris and features various individuals to represent different types of familial bonds.
