Carly Rae Jepsen releases double album Day and Night

Canadian pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen has released her eighth studio album, a 24-track double project titled ‘Day and Night’. The album is divided into two distinct sonic directions: ‘Day’, which features more organic, dream-pop, and folk-pop influences, and ‘Night’, which focuses on synth-based, experimental, and disco-inflected sounds.

Produced in part by her husband, Cole M. G. N., the album explores themes of love, motherhood, and personal evolution. Notable tracks include ‘After All’, a neo-soul piano piece, and ‘Versailles’, a single inspired by Sofia Coppola’s film ‘Marie Antoinette’ and the concept of indulgence.

Jepsen described the spontaneous evolution of the project into a double album as a ‘dream come true’, noting that the two sides together encapsulate her current musical identity. The release marks a significant stylistic expansion for the artist, moving beyond the pure pop sound of her earlier career.
