Carmelle Collado selected for Eurovision Song Contest Asia
Carmelle Collado has been selected to represent the Philippines at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026. Her winning entry, ‘Sobra-Sobra’—an anthem of women’s empowerment composed by Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides—emerged victorious during the Philippine Selection Night held at the New Frontier Theatre.
The competition results were determined by a weighted voting system consisting of 40% jury votes, 40% votes from viewers in the Philippines, and 20% votes from international viewers. Following her win, Collado will compete in the main event scheduled for November 14 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Other notable finalists included SAGA, who took second place with ‘Broken Beyond Repair,’ and the duo of JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano, who placed third with ‘Mapadama.’
