Carol Davila University doctors provide 4,200 free consultations on Romanian coast
The Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest conducted its sixth annual prevention campaign, ‘Asumă-ți să fii sănătos!’, along the southern Romanian coast. Between August 10 and August 15, 2026, a team of 46 volunteer doctors, including residents, specialists, and primary physicians, provided 4,214 free medical consultations to tourists.
The medical services were offered in the seaside resorts of Olimp, Neptun, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mangalia. Consultations covered several specialties, including dermatology, endocrinology, pediatrics, and pneumology. Specific screenings performed included melanoma, metabolic syndrome, and osteoporosis, as well as spirometric evaluations and nutritional assessments for children.
The initiative was organized in partnership with the Romanian Society of Dermatology, the Romanian Society of Endocrinology, the Romanian Society of Pediatrics, and the Romanian Society of Pneumology. Support was provided by the Ministry of National Defence through the 9th Mechanized Brigade ‘Mărășești’ and the Constanta Public Health Directorate.
