UMF Carol Davila medical campaign in Romania
Overview
The Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMFCD) launched its sixth annual health prevention campaign, ‘Asumă-ți să fii sănătos!’, along the Romanian Black Sea coast. Running from August 10 to August 15, 2026, the initiative targeted tourists in the seaside resorts of Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mangalia.
A team of 46 specialists and volunteers, including dermatologists, endocrinologists, pediatricians, and pulmonologists, provided medical services. By the conclusion of the campaign, the team had performed 4,214 free consultations. Screenings included evaluations for melanoma, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis, and nutritional assessments for children.
The project was coordinated by medical leadership and supported by the Ministry of National Defence through the 9th Mechanized Brigade ‘Mărășești’, the Constanta Public Health Directorate, and several Romanian medical societies.
