CarPoint announces limited Porsche 944 shooting brake conversion

German tuning company CarPoint has announced the GT-K44, a custom shooting brake conversion based on the Porsche 944. The project, which will be limited to only 10 units, aims to create a station wagon version of the classic coupe that Porsche never officially produced.

Inspired by the Artz 924 Turbo Kombi from the early 1980s, the GT-K44 was conceptualized by CarPoint founder Andreas Freund and designer Michael Söhngen. The conversion process involves hundreds of hours of metalwork, including extending and raising the roofline, reconstructing rear side panels, modifying B-pillars, and installing a new tailgate with redesigned lights.

The demonstration model is based on a 1991 Porsche 944 S2 featuring a 3.0-liter engine with 211 horsepower, finished in Oak Green with a Pascha interior. While customers must provide the donor 944 vehicle, CarPoint can assist in sourcing one. The conversion service costs 100,000 euros before taxes.
