Carrera Panamericana to pass through Veracruz in 2026

The 2026 edition of the Carrera Panamericana will include a two-day route through the state of Veracruz on October 16 and 17. The competition is expected to attract approximately 50,000 attendees, including spectators, pilots, and support teams.

On Friday, October 16, the race will enter Veracruz from Chiapas via Coatzacoalcos, traveling through Ciudad Isla, San Andrés Tuxtla, Lerdo de Tejada, and Alvarado before arriving at the port of Veracruz. An overnight stop is planned at the Macroplaza del Malecón, featuring cultural activities and a reception for participants.

On Saturday, October 17, the second stage will depart from the port toward Mexico City, passing through Xalapa, Altotonga, Atzalan, and Tlapacoyan, before exiting the state via Perote. This edition marks a notable return for Veracruz, specifically incorporating Xalapa into the official route. Tourism Secretary Igor Rojí López noted that the event is expected to significantly impact hotel occupancy, particularly in the port of Veracruz.
