CAS Space launches nine satellites via Lijian-1 rocket
Chinese private space company CAS Space successfully launched nine satellites into orbit using a Lijian-1 (also referred to as Kinetica-1) Y18 carrier rocket. The mission took place from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.
The payload included the Qinling-01 and Qinling-02 satellites, developed by Northwest Polytechnical University. These specific satellites are equipped with high-resolution panchromatic and multispectral cameras to support ecological conservation in the Qinling Mountains and Yellow River basin. Other satellites in the launch included Pujiang-4, Pengcheng-1, Diting-01A, Diting-01B, Diting-01C, Chaozhisuan-1, and Yunxiao Tanluzhe.
This mission represents the 16th flight in the Lijian series. CAS Space reported that the satellites are intended for various applications, including space environment monitoring, disaster warning, and scientific research. The company noted that market demand remains high, with its launch schedule currently filled through the second half of 2027.
