CASAN drives sewage upgrades and secures next sanitation seminar venue in Brazil

The Companhia Catarinense de Águas e Saneamento (CASAN) sent a delegation of senior commercial officials to the 6th National Seminar of Commercial Practices in Salvador, where about 400 water‑utility professionals gathered. CASAN representatives presented a case study on consumer‑focused sanitation services and announced that Florianópolis will host the next edition of the seminar.

In Barra Velha, CASAN has begun a new phase of its sewage‑treatment system, laying more than 700 metres of high‑pressure pipe that links the lift station to the treatment plant. The work, which is about 25 % complete, is being accelerated ahead of schedule, and the crossing of the BR‑101 highway will be performed with a non‑destructive horizontal drilling method to avoid traffic disruption.
