Cascais announces museum investments and new hospital opening

The municipality of Cascais has announced a 23 million euro investment to create and requalify several museums. Planned openings include the Roman Village Museum of Casais Velhos, the Press Museum, the Language Museum, the Stonemasonry and Stone Museum, and a requalified Sea Museum 2.0. Five of these facilities are expected to open by 2027, with others following by 2029. Notable projects include the Sea Museum, designed by architect Eduardo Souto Moura, and the Language Museum, which will be located in the Torre de Santo António.

In the healthcare sector, Lusíadas Saúde is set to open Hospital Lusíadas Beloura on September 1. The project represents a 40 million euro investment in infrastructure and equipment, aimed at serving the Sintra, Cascais, and Oeiras regions. The 9,500-square-meter facility is expected to create approximately 500 jobs and has the capacity to perform over 100,000 consultations and 4,000 surgeries annually. The hospital will offer various specialties, including cardiology, pediatrics, and orthopedics.
