Healthcare expansion in Sintra and Cascais

Overview

Healthcare infrastructure and services are expanding in the Sintra, Cascais, and Oeiras regions of Portugal. Following a 40 million euro investment, Hospital Lusíadas Beloura opened in Sintra to serve the western Lisbon Metropolitan Area. The facility includes 41 outpatient consultation rooms and two operating rooms, with the capacity to perform over 100,000 consultations and 4,000 surgeries annually.

In addition to the new hospital, the Sintra Municipality has established a protocol with the Sintra Delegation of the Portuguese Red Cross to launch a mental health program. This initiative is designed to increase access to psychological care for children, adolescents, and adults.
