Campania pushes forward civic renovation and social‑enterprise incubator initiatives
In Caserta, the Casa del Sociale Mamadou Sy – the former ONMI building – entered the next phase of its redevelopment after the municipality issued a service order to A.C. Costruzioni for the executive design, giving the firm 60 days to complete the plan. Local civic groups are urging that work begin by summer to turn the vacant municipal space into a shared hub for associations and residents.
On June 29, the Hub of Creativity and Innovation in Arbostella (Salerno) hosted a "Pensando Salerno" workshop. The event, organized by the Salerno municipality, brought together young entrepreneurs, women, cultural and social startups and officials to discuss strategies for social, cultural and economic development in the province.
The same day, officials in San Cipriano d’Aversa presented Italy’s first social‑enterprise incubator built on land confiscated from the Camorra. Funded with €4.47 million from the Interior Ministry, the project—backed by Agrorinasce, RINA Prime, the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, and the Campania Aerospace District—will convert the 13,500 m² complex into a centre for professional training, co‑working, drone‑pilot education and new start‑up creation.
These coordinated initiatives illustrate a broader push in Campania to repurpose public assets for community‑driven social, cultural and economic renewal.
