Cassiel Ato Forson leads NDC 2028 flagbearer poll

A new Global InfoAnalytics survey indicates that Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has taken the lead in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2028 flagbearer race. Forson recorded 32% support among delegates, marking a 10-percentage-point increase from 22% in July.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NDC National Chairman, saw his support drop from 27% in the July poll to 23%, leaving him nine points behind Forson. Other candidates include Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu at 5%, followed by Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang and Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, both at 4%.

The survey, conducted between September 11 and 13, 2026, sampled 3,615 NDC delegates. Despite the shift in leadership, 28% of delegates remain undecided, suggesting the race is not yet settled.
