Cassino: Storms and wind cause trees to fall on major roads

Severe thunderstorms and high winds in Cassino have caused significant disruption, including the fall of a large tree from the former De Posis hospital onto the Casilina road. The incident forced the local Civil Protection unit to intervene to clear the roadway and secure the area.

Another tree fell on Viale Dante, though it landed on a sidewalk and caused no injuries. In response to the city's large but reportedly under-maintained tree population, the municipality has allocated approximately 15,000 euros for green space maintenance. A contracted company has begun pruning trees to prevent further hazards.
