Castellammare di Stabia: Magistrate calls for social action against Camorra

Nicola Russo, a magistrate from the Naples Court of Appeal, has launched the ‘Spazio per tutti’ initiative in Castellammare di Stabia to address deep-seated issues of organized crime and political corruption.

During the launch, Russo criticized the local political landscape, noting that the city has faced two dissolutions of the City Council due to Camorra infiltration. He argued that political representatives failed to create a clear break from criminal elements between these periods, suggesting that many officials were aware of the situation. Russo specifically highlighted illegal administrative practices, such as the misuse of public service management and unjustified below-threshold procurement processes, as systemic failures driven by a lack of oversight.
