Castelli municipality dissolves shared secretary convention

A political controversy has emerged in Castelli following a rapid reversal regarding the municipal secretary's contract. On August 18, the municipality officially expressed its intent to extend the term of secretary Vincenzo Palumbi. However, by August 27, the administration retracted this decision, opting instead to dissolve the shared administrative convention between the municipalities of Castelli, Torricella Sicura, and Cortino.

The municipal council approved the dissolution of the convention on August 31. The opposition group ‘per CASTELLI’ has called for clarification regarding this nine-day shift in policy, noting that the decision impacts not only Castelli but also the other two participating municipalities. The mayor reportedly accepted responsibility for the decision, citing the need to preserve certain interests despite expressing appreciation for Palumbi’s work.
