Castilla-La Mancha allocates €1.5 million for agrifood promotion

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has allocated 1.5 million euros to support Denominations of Origin (DO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) within the region. This funding is intended for the 41 quality management bodies to carry out promotional activities for their products.

These subsidies aim to foster innovative initiatives that link agrifood promotion with culture, heritage, and tourism. Supported activities include product presentations, commercial missions, advertising campaigns, social media actions, workshops, and tastings.

In Belmonte, the DOP La Mancha is utilizing these resources to promote its wines through cultural events, such as the VII National Fast Painting Contest of La Mancha Wines 2026 and the Wine Gallery tasting event. Elena Escobar, Director General of Agri-food Production and Cooperatives, noted that the funds allow for diverse promotional tools to strengthen the prestige of the territories where these products are produced.
