Castilla-La Mancha advances housing, leisure, and regional debate updates
The regional government of Castilla-La Mancha is advancing several legislative and administrative measures. The Cortes de Castilla-La Mancha has approved a proposal to postpone the regional state of affairs debate from mid-October to December 10 and 11, following the scheduled general elections on November 29.
Regarding housing policy, the Commission of Development is set to debate 121 partial amendments to the law for urgent measures in land mobilization, housing, and urban simplification. The amendments are distributed among political groups: the PSOE has 13, the PP has 58, and Vox has 50. Notable proposals from Vox include requiring a minimum of five years of residency in Spain for rental access and ten years for home purchases, as well as increased inspections of public housing.
Additionally, a new law regulating public shows and recreational activities has been published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha. This law establishes a regulatory framework for various types of entertainment in both private establishments and public spaces, addressing modern leisure demands and managing conflicts between public recreation and residents' right to rest.
In the sports sector, the regional government will soon publish a provisional resolution regarding 1.3 million euros in aid for 98 high-level sports clubs that participated in national competitions during the 2025-2026 season.
