Spanish regional governments announce social and economic support measures
Various Spanish regional governments have announced new measures and funding related to social equality and economic development.
In the Valencian Community, the Centros Mujer network assisted 7,093 women during the first half of 2026, a significant increase from the 6,038 recorded in the same period the previous year. Vice President Susana Camarero noted that the network provided nearly 24,000 total interventions, including in-person, telephone, and video services, to address issues such as physical and psychological abuse, sexual harassment, and human trafficking.
In Castilla-La Mancha, the regional government has allocated approximately 255,593 euros to promote equality. These funds are split between supporting equality plans in small businesses and non-profits, and financing projects to combat multiple discrimination faced by vulnerable groups, including migrant women and those with disabilities.
Meanwhile, the Junta of Castilla y León has distributed 7,070,600 euros to support 479 entrepreneurs. These funds aim to revitalize local economies and encourage population retention in rural areas through programs such as the Plan Socioeconómico de La Raya and the Plan de Dinamización Económica de los Municipios Mineros.
