Castilla-La Mancha health services implement pediatric and pharmacy upgrades
Health services in Castilla-La Mancha are implementing improvements to patient care and infrastructure. In Guadalajara, the Hospital Universitario is advancing its ‘Peditour’ project, an initiative designed to humanize pediatric surgical care. The project aims to reduce anxiety in children through age-appropriate information, specialized tools, and the distribution of a children's book titled ‘Un paseo por el espacio’. Additionally, the hospital has adapted specific surgical boxes to create more welcoming environments for young patients.
In Hellín, the Gerencia de Atención Integrada has completed a renovation of its Pharmacy Service to handle rising demand in oncology and hematology. The project, costing over 35,000 euros, included the installation of new biological safety cabinets to manage high-risk medications. This expansion follows a 67% increase in sterile preparations over the last two years, with chemotherapy drug preparations reaching record monthly volumes in 2025.
