Castilla-La Mancha hosts second Vuelta Ciclista LEADER cycling race

The second edition of the Vuelta Ciclista Castilla-La Mancha LEADER has commenced, a cycling competition designed to promote rural development, heritage, and tourism across the Castilla-La Mancha region. The race covers over 1,000 kilometers and spans 102 municipalities. The event features both elite and sub-23 categories, as well as a significant female category aimed at promoting gender equality in sports.

In the men's competition, the CCLleida-Desguaces Pedrós team is participating in its first five-stage tour. Following the first two stages, team members including Ricard Fitó, Martí Castaño, and Martí Temprano remain in contention despite extreme heat conditions that caused some riders to suffer from heatstroke. The race continues through various stages, including a route from Torre de Juan Abad to Almadén.
