Castilla-La Mancha invests 3.5 million euros in breast cancer care
The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has allocated 3.5 million euros to modernize equipment for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. This investment, made over a two-year period, aims to maintain the region's position in advanced cancer care.
A recent portion of this funding includes 1.35 million euros for the acquisition of three state-of-the-art breast biopsy tables. One of these units will be installed at the Hospital General Universitario de Ciudad Real. The new technology incorporates tomosynthesis and three-dimensional imaging, which improves diagnostic capacity and precision when locating and biopsying millimeter-sized lesions.
This initiative is part of a long-term prevention strategy initiated 35 years ago, focusing on early detection programs for women aged 45 to 70.
