Castilla-La Mancha announces housing and ALS support funds

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has announced several new social and infrastructure initiatives. A seven-million-euro fund, financed entirely with regional resources, has been allocated to improve housing and building accessibility. This measure aims to support mobility, sensory accessibility, and technological adaptation for people with disabilities and seniors. The subsidies will cover 60% of costs, increasing to 80% for households with residents over 65 or with disabilities. Regional Minister Nacho Hernando noted that these funds are being used to bridge a gap while European and state-level housing funds are in transition.

Additionally, the regional government has approved a decree to adapt local regulations to the ELA Law. This includes the creation of a 'Grade III+' for extreme dependency, specifically for individuals with advanced Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This new category allows for professional care assistance of up to 9,859 euros per month to support families facing high-intensity care needs. The measure aims to streamline administrative processes for those in critical health situations.
