Castilla-La Mancha marks sustainability and transparency milestones

In Castilla-La Mancha, two distinct institutional initiatives were highlighted. The Diputación de Albacete celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Provincial Sustainability Observatory (OPSA). The event featured scientist Jacob Petrus, who presented on current environmental challenges. The anniversary also included the renewal of a cooperation agreement between the Diputación and the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) for the 2027-2030 period to ensure continued data generation for local public policy planning.

Separately, the Regional Council for Transparency and Good Governance of Castilla-La Mancha, alongside the Public Sector Integrity Observatory (OISP), launched the Permanent School of Integrity and Transparency (EPIT) in Toledo. Described as a first of its kind in Spain, the school provides continuous training in transparency, public integrity, and whistleblower protection. The program aims to offer practical, preventive education for public officials, with a specific focus on assisting small municipalities in meeting complex regulatory obligations.
