Spain's regions launch new subsidies to modernise and export small businesses

In Galicia, the Xunta de Galicia's Bono Autónomo scheme has funded more than 5,000 self‑employed businesses, with almost 1,900 in A Coruña receiving up to €7,000 each to upgrade premises, equipment and digital tools.

Castilla y León's Instituto para la Competitividad Empresarial (ICECYL) opened a call for up to €5 million in grants for SMEs to finance export activities, covering travel, trade‑fair participation, foreign‑brand registration and multilingual websites, with individual subsidies of up to €120,000.

The Andalusian Employment, Business and Self‑Employment Agency announced a €108 million programme to create 4,600 jobs and training projects for unemployed people, run by public and non‑profit entities.

Madrid's City Council activated a €1.8 million digitalisation line for local SMEs, offering up to €40,000 per firm to cover software, hardware, AI, cybersecurity and related training, reimbursing 50‑80 % of eligible costs.

These initiatives together aim to strengthen the competitiveness of Spain's micro‑enterprises and small firms by supporting modernisation, digital transformation and international market entry.
