Castilla y León funds road sign upgrades and restarts Segovia highway works

The regional government of Castilla y León will spend €473,730 to replace and upgrade vertical road signs in the province of León. The investment is part of nine contracts totaling €3.59 million across the autonomous community, aimed at improving visibility, durability and overall road safety on its more than 11,500 km of highways. The funds will cover the renewal of existing steel‑galvanised signs and the installation of new reflective elements, with works scheduled to run for 15 months until 2027.

In Segovia, the Junta is set to resume rehabilitation of the Cuesta de los Hoyos stretch of the SC‑SG‑21 road on 6 July. The 1.865‑km segment will be closed to traffic for an estimated three months while a six‑phase programme repairs the deteriorated granite paving, stabilises slopes, replaces drainage, upgrades lighting to LED and improves signage and pedestrian barriers. Alternative routes via the CL‑607, N‑110 and the renovated SC‑SG‑10 will be signposted for drivers and residents.
