Castilla y León reports unemployment and agricultural subsidy trends

In the Castilla y León region of Spain, recent data highlights significant trends in unemployment and agricultural subsidies. In June, the province of Salamanca recorded 10,025 unemployment benefit recipients, making it the third-highest in the region, following Valladolid and León. Despite high numbers, the regional administration maintains an efficient processing time of 1.31 days per file, which is faster than the Spanish national average of 1.63 days.

Regarding the agricultural sector, a report from the Fondo Español de Garantía Agraria (FEGA) reveals a structural aging issue among Common Agricultural Policy (PAC) subsidy recipients in Castilla y León. Last year, 50,465 people received direct aid, with 32.72% being over the age of 65. In contrast, only 0.75% of recipients were under the age of 25. The sector also shows a significant gender imbalance, with men accounting for 36,735 recipients compared to 13,730 women.
