Castilla‑La Mancha pays €4 million to 162 young farmers

The regional government of Castilla‑La Mancha will transfer four million euros on Friday to 162 young people who have recently entered agriculture and livestock farming. The payment is part of the generational‑renewal policy under the EU's 2023‑27 Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy (PEPAC).

To date, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development has made six payments covering 502 newcomers (about €14 million) and two additional payments for the 2024‑25 call that reached 241 youths with €6 million. Altogether, 743 young agrarians have received roughly €20 million, representing 60 % of the total incorporation aid allocated.

Officials highlighted that the scheme aims to secure the future of the sector and European food security, citing examples such as a couple who operate a 3 000‑bird free‑range egg farm in Fuente el Fresno.
