Castilla‑La Mancha reports 16,500 students taking B1 language exams

Around 16,500 secondary and vocational students in Castilla‑La Mancha sat for B1 language certification exams in German, French, English and Italian. The tests were administered to 4th‑year ESO pupils and 2nd‑year CF​GM students enrolled in bilingual or plurilingual programmes at publicly funded schools.

The pass rate rose to about 83%, up from roughly 75% in previous years. Successful candidates now obtain the status of former student for future enrolment in the region’s official language schools, and the B1 credential is recognised for further study or employment. The regional education authority noted that upcoming regulations may allow certification at other proficiency levels beyond the intermediate B1 stage.
