Castro Municipal Government expands security fleet
The Castro Municipal Government is expanding its public security capabilities through the ‘Castro Segura’ program. During a ceremony at Parque Lacustre, the Secretariat of Public Security delivered new vehicles to reinforce the Municipal Guard.
The current delivery includes five Renault Duster vehicles, four Suzuki 350 motorcycles, and a Renault van to serve as a mobile base for large events and neighborhood patrols. This phase represents an investment of R$ 1.7 million. An additional R$ 660,000 is planned for two 4x4 trucks to be incorporated within 70 days for rural and urban patrolling, bringing the total investment in fleet renewal to R$ 2.36 million.
In addition to the new fleet, the Municipal Guard has seen an increase in personnel, with 18 new hires bringing the total force to 36 members. The program also includes upgrades to uniforms and both lethal and non-lethal equipment.
