Cat Lai and Long Hung bridges construction begins in Vietnam

On September 29, authorities in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City officially launched construction on two major bridge projects: the Cat Lai Bridge and the Long Hung Bridge. These projects, spanning the Dong Nai River, are being implemented through public-private partnership (PPP) models.

The Cat Lai Bridge project is expected to cost approximately 24,000 billion VND. It will feature a 55m clearance to accommodate container ships up to 60,000 DWT and is designed with six motor vehicle lanes and two non-motorized lanes. The Long Hung Bridge project has an estimated investment of over 12,700 billion VND and will be a single-plane cable-stayed bridge.

Together, these infrastructure works aim to enhance connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and the Long Thanh International Airport, while reducing pressure on existing transport routes like the Cat Lai ferry. Both bridges are scheduled for completion and operation by 2029.
