Catalan municipalities advance local environmental and biodiversity projects

In El Vendrell, the City Council has launched a tender for the development of Parc del Botafoc, a major environmental project involving the renaturalization of the Bisbal stream. The project, which covers approximately six hectares, has an estimated starting budget of 5,909,267.97 euros (including VAT). The works include creating sustainable vegetation, paths, sports facilities, a playground, and a climbing wall. The initiative is supported by European Union FEDER funds.

Meanwhile, in El Prat de Llobregat, the City Council has signed a two-year collaboration agreement with the environmental organization SEO/BirdLife. The partnership aims to protect local biodiversity, avian fauna, and natural habitats. SEO/BirdLife will provide environmental monitoring and advisory services to the municipality, particularly regarding the environmental impact of local activities, while also collaborating on environmental education and awareness campaigns.
