Catalan Parliament blocks Salvador Illa's appearance over PSOE judicial cases
The Catalan Parliament's board of speakers rejected a motion to place President Salvador Illa on the agenda to answer questions about judicial cases affecting the PSOE. The request, put forward by the Popular Party and Vox, was opposed by the PSC, ERC and Comuns, while Junts voted in favour and the CUP abstained.
The decision follows a similar refusal in early June when the board also rejected attempts to summon Illa. The Parliament will instead focus on debating legislation on housing speculation and other pending matters such as the 2026 budget and the creation of a Catalan Centre for Business and Human Rights.
