Catalonia launches 1,065 affordable homes and 111 protected rental apartments
The Catalan government’s Plan 50.000 has awarded Grupo Corp the construction of 1,065 affordable homes across ten municipalities, including Terrassa, Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Sant Adrià de Besòs, Abrera, Centelles, Esplugues, La Seu d’Urgell, Tàrrega, Torelló, Vilagrassa and Vilanova del Camí. The projects will be built and managed under a 75‑year surface‑right concession, with Grupo Corp also setting up a dedicated management company to maintain the buildings and provide social support. Director of Institutional Relations Joan Carles Sánchez said the initiative “requires long‑term vision, technical capacity and social commitment.”
Separately, La Seu d’Urgell will receive 111 protected rental apartments, 30% earmarked for young people, under a similar 75‑year surface‑right model. The contract was given to LANDETIC SL, and the development will be located on Guillem de Plandolit street in the Horta del Valira area. Mayor Joan Barrera praised the project as a “very good news for the city and especially for young families.” Both schemes form part of the first wave of 23 Catalan municipalities slated to create around 2,000 affordable homes.
