Catalonia wildfires quickly contained in Sant Cugat and Guimerà

On July 8, a vegetation fire broke out on the avenue of les Roquetes in Sant Cugat. The Generalitat fire service was alerted at 16:52, controlled the blaze rapidly and reported no injuries or property damage.

A separate forest fire started near Guimerà on the night of July 9 at around 20:48. Dozens of tractors from farmers in the Vall del Corb, coordinated with the Agricultural Defense Force and the Generalitat fire brigade, created firebreaks and protected farms, preventing the fire from spreading toward the LV‑2101 road. The fire was stabilized by 00:50, with no structural damage reported. Both incidents highlight the effective response of local emergency services and the crucial role of farmers in forest fire management in Catalonia.
