Catamarca authorities investigate identity theft involving OSEP prescriptions

Authorities in Catamarca, Argentina, have launched an investigation into potential identity theft involving the Obra Social de los Empleados Públicos (OSEP). The probe began after an affiliate discovered her national identity document (DNI) was being used for electronic prescriptions and medication purchases under a third party's name.

Prosecutor Facundo Barros Jorrat is leading the inquiry to determine how these electronic prescriptions were generated and validated. As part of the investigation, the prosecutor has ordered an inspection of the establishment where the unauthorized transaction occurred and requested digital records, including billing receipts and computer logs, to identify those involved in the operation.
