Catania man arrested during attempted scooter theft

In Catania, a man was arrested while attempting to steal a brand-new scooter. The individual had already tampered with the ignition cables and broken the steering lock when a passerby noticed the activity and alerted the State Police.

Upon intervention, officers found the suspect in possession of various tools used to force the vehicle, as well as a registration document for another motorcycle that he could not justify. The legitimate owner has since been reunited with the vehicle. The suspect faces charges of attempted aggravated theft, receiving stolen goods, and unlawful possession of lockpicks or altered keys.
