Catania police seize 3.5 kg of marijuana intended for online sale

A 43-year-old man in Catania, Italy, has been reported to judicial authorities following the discovery of a drug depot in his garage. State Police canine units, using two police dogs named Ares and Ugo, detected the presence of narcotics during patrols in Viale Castagnola.

Officers seized over 3.5 kilograms of marijuana stored in various bags. Investigations revealed the substance had been purchased online from the Netherlands, supported by invoices found at the scene. While the marijuana's active ingredient was below the legal threshold for possession, police determined the individual intended to package the substance into smaller doses for online sale. The drugs have been confiscated, and the man faces charges for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
