Catanzaro initiates waste tax incentives and school demolition

The Municipality of Catanzaro has initiated two distinct administrative processes aimed at urban management and redevelopment.

First, the municipal government has approved a resolution to explore a system of incentives for residents who correctly use municipal waste collection centers. This initiative aims to reward users with potential reductions in the TARI waste tax based on the type and weight of materials delivered. To implement this, the city plans to upgrade the collection center on Viale Magna Grecia with technological tools, including RFID systems and computerized weighbridges, to ensure verifiable data for a precise tariff system.

Second, the city has launched the tender procedure for the demolition of the former G. Mazzini Institute. This demolition is the first phase of a larger €7 million project funded by the Cohesion Development Fund to transform the Nicholas Green area into a space for commercial and artisanal activities. The initial phase of demolition is estimated to cost approximately €1.4 million.
