Catholic Action holds national meeting in Bari on Mediterranean dialogue

The national meeting of the Diocesan Presidencies and Regional Delegations of Catholic Action took place in Bari, Italy, from July 30 to August 2, 2026. Under the theme ‘Mediterranean Horizons: Inhabiting Fraternity for a Culture of Dialogue,’ the event focused on the Mediterranean as a crossroads of cultures, religions, and people, while addressing challenges such as migration, conflict, and inequality.

The opening session included a prayer led by Monsignor Claudio Giuliodori, who read a greeting from Pope Leo XIV, transmitted via Cardinal Pietro Parolin. The Pope encouraged the association to foster formative processes that build communities capable of listening. The event featured contributions from various figures, including the Metropolitan Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto, Monsignor Giuseppe Satriano, and local institutional leaders such as the Mayor of Bari and the President of the Puglia Region.
