Catholic Church in Argentina marks historic altar consecration in Formosa and archbishop anniversary in Paraná

In the province of Formosa, the Chapel of San Cayetano celebrated 70 years of pastoral presence by consecrating a new altar and installing a second‑grade relic – a fragment of the saint’s liturgical cape – the third such relic preserved in Argentina. The liturgy was presided over by Bishop José Vicente Conejero Gallego, who emphasized the centrality of the Eucharist, stating, “Ninguna otra acción puede igualar en grandeza, en dignidad y en santidad la celebración de la Eucaristía.”

In Paraná, the archdiocese marked the first anniversary of the installation of Archbishop Raúl Martín, who took possession of the see on 26 July 2025. The original ceremony was attended by the Apostolic Nuncio Monsignor Mirosław Adamczyk, more than twenty bishops, and numerous civil and security officials, underscoring the event’s significance for the local Catholic community.
