Catholic Church events in Argentina

In late July 2026, the Argentine Catholic Church marked two significant milestones. In Formosa, the Chapel of San Cayetano consecrated a new altar and installed a second‑grade relic of Saint Cayetano, while in Paraná the archdiocese celebrated the first anniversary of Archbishop Raúl Martín’s installation.

A few days later, the Church turned to outreach, organizing a three‑day Mission of the Clergy in Chacabuco led by Archbishop Jorge Eduardo Scheinig, and holding a dialogue in Concordia with Bishop Gustavo Gabriel Zurbriggen and local political leaders. These activities focused on strengthening parish ties and addressing social challenges such as drug trafficking, school dropout, labor precarity, digital gambling, and the anticipated rise of the Uruguay River due to El Niño.
