Catholic Church selects Book of Daniel for 2026 Bible Month

The Catholic Church's Biblical Movement has selected the Book of Daniel as the theme for the 2026 Bible Month in September. Under the motto “His kingdom will never be destroyed” (Dn 7:14), the study aims to reflect on spiritual resistance, ethical fortitude, and hope amidst modern global instabilities.

Reflections on the text focus on the prophetic-apocalyptic narratives within Daniel, specifically the imagery of a great statue with feet of clay and iron. This imagery is interpreted as a symbol of successive oppressive empires and exploitative powers. The theological approach encourages a commitment to building a more just, solidary, and anti-imperialist society, viewing the biblical text as a tool for liberation and social transformation.
